These fit on my 2 HP desktop computer cases. As mentioned, they're a metal mesh, not any type of foam filter material. They won't keep out ALL the dust, but certainly reduce it, and do keep out the larger items such as hair and carpet lint... You still have to periodically open up your case to blow out the collected dust on the CPU heat sink and fan, but less frequently, and it's a lot less. The filters being metal, easy to wipe their surfaces with a cloth when you do your dusting
